Privacy Policy

Last updated 3 September 2026

In short

  • The app needs no account. Your players, scores and history stay on your device.
  • The free version shows ads, which are served by a third party and may use an advertising identifier you control in your device settings.
  • This website sets no non-essential cookie before you agree, and you can change your mind at any time.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy covers two separate things: the Dice Score Sheet & Scorepad mobile app, published on the App Store and on Google Play, and this website, which exists to present the app.

The app and this site are published by David Colin, who is the data controller. You can reach us at contact@colindavid.net.

2. The app: what stays on your device

The app works offline and has no sign-up. Player names, scores, game history and statistics are written to your device's local storage and are not sent to us. We have no server holding your games and no way to read them.

Deleting the app removes that data. If your device backs itself up (iCloud, Google backup), the app's data may be included in that backup, under the terms of the service you have enabled, not ours.

Two things do leave the device, and neither carries your scores. The app reports which screens are opened so we can see which features are used, and it sends a crash and performance report when something fails or runs slowly, containing the device model, the operating system version and the state of the app at that moment. Both go to Google's Firebase, listed in section 5.

3. Advertising in the free version

The free version is funded by advertising. Ads are delivered by an advertising network, not by us; to serve and count them, the network may process your device's advertising identifier, coarse location derived from your IP address and technical information about the device.

On first launch in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, the app asks for your choice about personalised advertising, and you can change it later from the app's menu. On iOS, tracking additionally requires the system permission you grant or refuse in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Refusing does not remove the ads; it makes them non-personalised.

A Premium subscription removes advertising entirely, and with it the identifier processing described above. The purchase itself is handled by Apple or Google, and we never see your payment details; a subscription service called RevenueCat, listed in section 5, checks the receipt so the app knows your subscription is active.

4. Cookies on this website

When you first arrive, nothing but the strictly necessary cookie is set. Measurement scripts are not loaded at all until you accept them, and refusing is a single click, with the same weight as accepting.

Cookie Purpose Kept for Set
Remembers your cookie choice so you are not asked again. Strictly necessary. 6 months Always
Google Analytics, which counts visits and which sections are read, in aggregate. 13 months Only if you allow audience measurement
Store campaign measurement: records that a store button was tapped, as an event only. No profile is built. Not applicable Only if you allow it

Analytics data is processed by Google, which may transfer it outside the European Union under the transfer safeguards published by that provider. IP addresses are anonymised. We do not use advertising cookies on this website, and we sell nothing to anybody.

Changed your mind? Clearing your stored choice brings the cookie notice back on your next visit to the site.

5. Who processes data for us

6. Your rights

Under the GDPR you may ask for access to the data held about you, its correction or its deletion, and you may object to processing or withdraw a consent you have given. Because the app keeps your games on your own device and this site holds only aggregate measurement, there is usually very little for us to hand over, which is the point.

Write to contact@colindavid.net and we will answer within one month. You may also complain to your national data protection authority; in France that is the CNIL.

7. Children

The app is suitable for family play and asks for no personal detail about any player: a first name typed on the score sheet stays on the device. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. A change that affects what we ask consent for will bring the cookie notice back.
